Mission Teams
Healthcare mission teams are needed in Guatemala. Maya Mesoamerica Mission has hosted teams since 2004 focusing on the indigenous rural Mayan communities of the Pacific coastal region. A typical mission team flies in to Guatemala on a Saturday and departs the following Saturday. We have five days of healthcare outreach in several different communities and one day of seeing a little of the country and culture.

Dental outreaches are usually extraction clinics. Our mission does not have a permanent dental clinic where teams serve. We go to different localities and hold clinic in a school, church, or community center with people whom we have an ongoing relationship.

Vision outreach teams are usually clinics where the team does a simple vision screening for reading glasses. Team members can be trained in thirty minutes how to make a life changing impact.

Like the dental teams, medical outreaches are held in a church, school, or community building. Often a medical mission is the only opportunity the rural poor of Guatemala have to access healthcare.
All teams provide all of the supplies, medicine, glasses, and everything necessary to accomplish their mission as well as their in country expenses.
