Maya-Mesoamerica Mission, (MMM),
is partnering with churches and individuals in the United States
bringing the “good news” of Jesus Christ to the people
of Xolcaja, a village in the jungle of Guatemala. On June 6 a short-term
mission team from Missouri and Alabama visited Xolcaja and help
to continue bringing the “good news” to the rural villages
of Central America. If you would like to partner with them by sharing
your resources you can send a check monthly or one-time to the MMM
address above. Please indicate for “national missionary”
with the check. You can also donate online at the MMM website. Just
go to www.mayamission.org and click on “donate online”.
Maya-Mesoamerica Mission is a not-for-profit Christian mission and
your gifts are tax deductable.

Then they signaled for their partners
in the other boat to come and help them. The men came, and together
they filled the two boats so full that they both began to sink.
When Simon Peter saw this happen, he knelt down in front of Jesus
and said, "Lord, don't come near me! I am a sinner." Peter
and everyone with him were completely surprised at all the fish
they had caught. His partners James and John, the sons of Zebedee,
were surprised too. Jesus told Simon, "Don't be afraid! From
now on you will bring in people instead of fish."

a Bible school. Several of the Mayan Indian girls from the village
honored our visit, and the donation of a parcel of land from the
mission to the village, with a native dance.
There is no Christian church in Xolcaja. If people want to go to
church they must walk to a neighboring village.

In
Las Nubes now there is a church within walking distance. Sunday,
June 12, Guillermo welcomed us from Xela Community Church to share
in their dedication service for this new building. There is still
a dirt floor, but the wooden walls and metal roof will keep us dry
as we praise our Lord this rainy season. The people of Las Nubes
thank Commission Expeditions and the saints from Missouri and Alabama
for giving them this place of worship. Guillermo is a national missionary
of Maya-Mesoamerica Mission and the pastor of Iglesia Cristiana
Las Nubes, (Las Nubes Christian Church). In just 10 months Iglesia
Cristiana Las Nubes has come from a vision in the hearts of a few
people to this church where about seventy people regularly worship
God on Sunday afternoons.
MMM enables Guillermo to serve this rural mission through financial
partnerships with families and churches in North America and Europe.
Guillermo and his family still need more In May David and Guillermo
had the privilege of baptizing three youngsters from Xela Community
Church.
