New Shoe Shipment in route to Maya Mission Warehouse

A new shoe shipment from our partners at Soles4Soles was recently received at official offices in Guatemala City, Guatemala. It is unknown exactly when the shipment will arrive in Xela (Quetzaltenango), but we do know it is currently being processed.

Each new shipment of shoes from Soles4Soles is a continual learning experience for our micro business, Shoes for Guatemala. The mission's current goal is to see that the micro business becomes self-sufficient, not requiring additional donations. Rent costs for the Warehouse in Xela, shipping fees and taxes and volunteers in charge of receiving, sorting and distributing the shipment all take a part in each shipment. It is our goal to see that as the shoes are sold for a very low rate to individual women and retailers that they pay for themselves by providing funds to cover rent and shipping costs.
